Successful Harvard "Get Green Career Symposium" Event yesterday!

Catered the Harvard "Get Green Career Symposium" yesterday. I am thrilled that all of the attendees greatly enjoyed their healthy, seasonal and delicious Savory Green lunch! Much interest from several attendees in coming to SGU for a Savory Green cooking class, which will be a fantastic experience for all. I appreciate that many of these folks support sustainability, and what an awesome experience with colleagues and friends to engage in delicious seasonal cooking. And to all, if you are unfamiliar with sustainable foods, all the more reason to enjoy a fun and delicious educational experience!

Yelp Dessert party was awesome!

Had a great opportunity to share my chocolate baklava with the Elite Yelpers at the Dessert Party on October 23, 2011. People seemed to enjoy my signature pastry! I met many great people and sampled some delicious dishes!

Fantastic Long Weekend!

We had a crisp entrance of fall this week, with coats and sweaters returning; however, we return to summer temperatures in Boston today and tomorrow! If you live in New England, you know that it is often a matter of waiting that minute for a seasonal change...

I am looking forward to the upcoming Intro to Wine tasting class that my friend, Sommelier Bill and I will be offering on October 21st at 7:00pm-9:00pm at Savory Green, 24 Jeanette Avenue Belmont, MA 02478. Gather some friends and sign up as our seating is limited! If you enjoy wine and tasty food, this is where you want to be on the 21st!

In the meantime, enjoy the flashback of summer on this fall weekend!

Awesome group cooking class last night! Fantastic people learning new dishes and cooking procedures! Yes, there is something about that "mis en place" that can benefit all!  :)
Lots of laughs, great people and delicious food! I am proud- well done! Chef

Incredible pictures taken by Nick are posted on the website, as well as Yelp (Savory Green University)

What a great day! Nick is teaching me about updating my website, which is very cool! The Wine Tasting 101 class is now on the main page of the website, as well as listed as a Yelp event under Savory Green University, Twitter and Facebook. I am very happy to be working with my favorite sommelier to coordinate a very fun event. Bill is expert in wines, and pairing that with my expertise in foods, what more can one ask? A rhetorical question, readers, but feel free to share your answers in class. If you enjoy wine but want to know more about them, this is a class that you do not want to miss. Sign up on www.savorygreen.com to reserve a glass on October 21st!

September 1, 2011

September 1, 2011! Time surely moves quickly. It still feels like it's "one big day", though. I know many of you relate to this feeling.
I am very happy to be posting September classes. The farm box will remain a star within this season! Please do not think that I have forgotten pastry -- this will never happen!
Calls and requests for private parties are coming in, which is great! Please get your gang together for a night out of amazing green cooking, and email inquiries@savorygreen.com to schedule. You will love the food, educational experience and a great time!

Today is August 31, 2011, and the summer season is officially coming to a close. Colleges and schools are back in session, and we are approaching the fall season.

I must admit that Autumn has always been my favorite season! I love the stunning changes that occur in deciduous trees with the crisp temperature shifts. Observing a gorgeous array of brilliant colors -- reds, oranges, golds, browns can definitely light one's spirit!

Apple picking has always been a fun activity with family and friends. The right orchard, with apple-cider donuts and a blue grass band, sunshine, have always contributed to a great experience. Coming back with amazing apples, to bake and cook is my forte! Needless to say, I am looking forward to this.

I will publish classes teaching how to make a proper pie crust, pate brisee (short crust) and pate sucree (sweet pie crust). The technique of creating a proper crust will ensure a better pastry!
I look forward to baking with you this fall!

In the meantime, CHEERS! in advance. :)

A beautiful day today, and my tomatoes stand tall and healthy!

I have spoken with several people about taking a Savory Green cooking class. We are still in the "prime season" for local produce in Massachusetts, so your class awaits you and your friends! Savory Green supports a seasonal menu, with delicious foods to be created in every season. Let's take advantage of summer's robust offerings, and enjoy great food, fun and super instruction!
New classes will be posted within the next week but to personalize your class, email Chef Tracy @ tstamos@savorygreen.com. I look forward to cooking green with you!

Tropical Storm Irene

I secured my beautiful Heirloom tomatoes, saving them from being blown away to Oz!

I am grateful that Irene was a tropical storm and not a hurricane! I put much care into growing fresh herbs and tomatoes, and thankfully they stand tall!
